MEET YOUR HOSTS | Ken and Joanna

We are Sungate Place; a wedding/event venue located in Sunny Southern Oregon, nestled along the Historic Applegate Trail at the foot of Mt. Sexton, close to Interstate 5.

Ken and Joanna Guerra have hosted parties, gatherings, and weddings for friends and family since 2009. In 2021 they opened Sungate Place to the public so that others can host their own events here!

For 34 years, we poured our hearts into this land—building a home, raising our children, and creating countless cherished memories. Hospitality has always been part of who we are, opening our doors to friends and family. But in 2022, after facing a life-changing illness, we felt an even deeper calling to share our space in a meaningful way.

With that inspiration, we built our event barn—a place where love, laughter, and unforgettable moments could unfold. Now, we welcome couples and their loved ones to celebrate one of life's most beautiful milestones in a setting that feels like home.
